This one shows Gemini and Canis Major dancing along the horizon, as they can be seen from latitude 9°N. The bright star to the West of Pollux's knee is Procyon which forms part of Canis Minor. The bright star in Canis Major's neck is Sirius (the "Dog Star") which is the brightest star in our night sky.
The image includes stars of magnitude 11 or brighter, and therefore contains many stars that are not visible to the naked eye and which can only usually be seen through binoculars or a telescope. The
